Passing the Torch

With the launch of the 2nd Cask & Kettle in Kennebecasis Valley, Mike and Shawn needed some new paintings. By this time, Cask had began brewing their own beer, a practice hundreds of years old and would have traveled across the Atlantic with the British and Irish. Beer is a major part of Canadian culture, especially the East coast. These two paintings showcase the collaborative effort and cooperation between the Irish and Canadians through a shared culture that is beer and brewing. The scene breaks between colour and black & white to symbolize the long history between these two countries. The Irish of the past would have passed on their knowledge and values to help shape the Canadian men and woman of the present.
